Purpose and Scope Ensure safe and efficient operation in a Combined Cycle Power Plant. To ensure smooth and efficient operation of the Sembcorp Myingyan Power Plant throughout 24 hours by 12 hour rotating shift. Key Roles and Responsibilities Supervise and oversee day to day operation and performance of High pressure Boiler / Gas Turbine / Steam Turbine /BOP and water treatment/Demin water Plant. Monitor status of all plant systems and review reports on a daily basis to ensure that all abnormalities are investigated and rectified in compliance with regulatory and company standards and requirements, e.g., PTW (Permit To Work), LOTO (Log Out Tag Out), etc. Plan, train and rotate the Operations Technician between control room and field to sustain core operational competencies. . Implement optimization projects to improve productivity and plant performance. Demonstrate and make competent decisions in emergency situations. Ensure compliance of safety protocols (PTW, RA, emergency response etc) Issue PTW for routine, corrective maintenance and breakdown maintenance Develop SOPs, and prepare schedule for operation and routine testing of plant equipment Ensure proper reporting and documentation of operational issues and performance. Ensure timely and accurate submission of daily plant consumption figures to relevant internal stakeholders' use. Participate as team member for root cause failure analysis team member. Maintain and order operational consumable and chemicals. Successful candidate can be appointed as part of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) (training will be provided) Perform other duties as assigned. MAJOR CHALLENGES Start-up/Shut down Gas turbine and steam turbine as per start-up/shut down schedule. Act in emergency to avoid undue trips to process power generation and meet the load schedule without any non-conformance. Investigate plant abnormalities, and take corrective course of action during shift (plant trips, unit de-ration, occurrence of fire etc.) KEY DECISIONS & DIMENSIONS Carry out first-level maintenance as required. Carryout routine GTs, ST , HRSGs and BOP equipment changeover without affecting the plant operation. Assist shift engineer in analyzing the problem encountered and find solution/procedure/practices to avoid the repetition
Operate and monitor the Gas Turbines, Steam Turbine, Heat Recovery Steam Generators, Balance of Plant, Water treatment, Demin Water Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant and Auxiliary systems through Distributed Control System (DCS). Coordinate with Field Technician and Shift Charge Engineer with regards to all related activities in the shift. Perform routine inspections, analyse system performance and troubleshoot operational issues. Monitor all equipment parameters and enter periodic readings in log sheets. Report abnormalities to Shift Charge Engineer. Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies and abnormal operating conditions with appropriate corrective actions. Act in emergency to avoid undue trips and meet the load schedule without non-conformance. Execute plant start-up, shutdown and load adjustments following standard operating procedures and schedule. Coordinate with Shift Charge Engineer and Field Technician for implementation of equipment isolation and normalization in accordance with the PTW and LOTO procedures. Operate the plant with adherence to Safe Operation Procedures, as well as compliance to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) protocols. Maintain accurate record, logs, and reports on plant performance, operational activities and equipment conditions. Coordinate with external parties (LDC and MOGE) regarding load dispatch to meet the grid demand as well as natural gas supply. Raise maintenance request in SAP system and work closely with maintenance to address equipment malfunction and implement necessary repairs. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations; participate in trainings, safety programs and safety teams (fire warden, first aid, emergency response). Carry out first-level maintenance as required. Carryout routine GTs, ST, HRSGs and BOP equipment changeover without disrupting the plant operation. Assist shift charge engineer in analysing the problem encountered and find solution/procedure/practices to avoid the recurrence. Perform other duties as assigned.

Perform condition monitoring during the shift to ensure that all equipment parameters are normal and within limits of performance and enter periodic readings in log sheets. Coordinate with Shift Charge Engineer and Boardman for implementation of equipment isolation and normalization in accordance to PTW and LOTO System. Operate the plant with adherence to Safe Operation Procedures, as well as compliance to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) protocols. Maintain record of operational activities and operational consumables. Raise maintenance request in SAP system for equipment malfunction. Participate in safety teams (fire warden, first aid, emergency response). Perform other duties as assigned.
