The Myanmar Employer Awards Are Back for their Fourth Year Of Recognizing Employer Excellence

After launching in 2017, the Myanmar Employer Awards, powered by JobNet.com.mm, return for a better and bigger 4th edition. Aiming to recognize the best employers in the country and to raise standards in HR best practices, the Awards program has received extensive support from Yoma Bank as the Main Sponsor, Deloitte as Official Verifying Partner, CCI France Myanmar, the British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar, the Australia-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce, the Italy-Myanmar Business Association, the American Chamber of Commerce, and the India-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce as supporting partners, as well as The Myanmar Times and The Strait Times Myanmar Edition as Official Media Partners.

“The MEA are the only independent program to celebrate and recognize the best employers in Myanmar. It’s a fantastic tool for employer branding which helps companies better attract and retain talent. They also provide a great opportunity for companies and their management to get together, reflect on what works and document that in the official application documents. We’ve made a number of changes and improvements to make it easier for companies to apply while maintaining the integrity and credibility of the process” said Matt De Luca, Managing Director of JobNet.com.mm “We are excited for this year’s awards, which are expected to bring in hundreds of applications across a broad range of categories from both local and international companies operating in Myanmar.”

Applications for the 2020 Myanmar Employer awards open on July 7th, and any company with a minimum of 10 full time employees, both local and international, can apply. The awards are divided into a Local and International segment to ensure fairness in the competition. After submitting the Entry Form, companies must complete an online survey and an essay for each selected Award Category by the closing deadline of 18 September. Companies who have participated in the 2020 Best Companies to Work in Myanmar campaign will not need to complete the Employee Engagement Survey again.

A mixed panel of over 20 local and international judges with extensive experience across varying industries and countries, led by Head Judge Prof. Dr. Aung Tun Thet, will converge for final judging day in October. As the appointed 2020 Official Verifying partner, Deloitte Myanmar will ensure fairness and transparency throughout the judging process, including ensuring that no judge can vote for a competitor or any company they have been employed by in the last 36 months.

Companies big and small are encouraged to apply, with an SME category fully dedicated to organizations with less than 50 full time employees. The Award Ceremony will be held on 11 December 2020 at a star studded premium Gala Night Event at the Novotel Yangon Max.
