Job Description

A Good Opportunity for ..

Overview of Responsibilities:
 Be the first point of contact at the College for prospective parents and students, or ensure this is effectively delegated to other staff in the Department.
 Ensure that the Admissions Office gives prospective students, parents and/or their representatives an inspiring introduction to the “Dulwich College Experience”. This includes maintaining a stimulating and welcoming environment in the Admissions Department areas and testing rooms.
 Conduct regular reviews of the Admissions Policy and procedures to ensure they continue to meet the needs of the College
 Conduct market analysis of competing international school Admissions Departments to maximize DCY’s ability to attract new students.
 Create a reporting format and process to review the Admissions process and enrolment figures/targets on a weekly basis with school leadership.
New Student Admissions Process
 Oversee the distribution of promotional/application materials, the scheduling and operation of school tours and all aspects of the enrolment process; Follow up with interested applicants in a defined and documented manner.
 Liaise with the Headmaster and academic leadership to conduct school tours and information sessions for prospective students and their families.
 Provide all BCY employees with an “admissions script”, so they are able to answer general queries about the admissions process (e.g., class sizes, year groups, and teachers).
 Ensure that all enquiries about admissions are acknowledged within 24 hours.
 Oversee the collection of all relevant documents required for student admission and regularly review all correspondence with applicants’ families.
 Oversee the development and maintenance of an accurate and up-to-date applicant database.
 Ensure that the Department has entered all the required information into the College database for incoming students.
 Ensure that all other information and documents are distributed to College and DCI departments well in advance of a student’s enrolment (i.e., finance, academic, nurses, transport, and catering).
 Advise the Headmaster of any potential difficulties regarding the eligibility of a child to join the College.
Testing and Transcript Evaluation
 Oversee the scheduling and smooth running of admissions testing; ensure that testing is suitably rigorous and confidential.
 Maintain a sufficient amount of test materials, both in digital and hard copy form.
 Ensure that all student transcripts and College profiles are consistent with DCI guidelines and international best practice.
Community Liaison and Public Relations
 In liaison with CLT, hold seminars, open houses and other initiatives to promote the school.
 Attend community events on the College’s behalf.
 Maintain professional relationships with Admissions Departments in other DCI schools and with other international schools in the country/region.
 Support all DCY Admissions and Marketing initiatives.
 Identify and build partnerships with local companies and organisations that facilitate our recruiting goals (e.g., property/relocation agents, embassies, and chambers of commerce).
Safeguarding
 Adhere to the DCI Framework and College’s Safeguarding Policy.
 Be proactive in reporting any safeguarding or child protection concerns noted at any time.
Marketing
 Support and advise the Headmaster in all matters relating to the Marketing of the College during its start-up and infancy stages until a separate head of Marketing is appointed.

Job Requirements

Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
 Have at least 3 years of experience in a customer service oriented industry, with experience in the field of education preferable.
 Be a highly committed team player with the drive, energy and passion to develop DCY into a high performing and forward looking school.
 Have excellent communication and relationship building skills.
 Perform effectively and with integrity under pressure.
 Show initiative and pre-empt issues and challenges.
 Be fluent in both spoken and written English and Burmese.
 Possess a good understanding of the education system in Myanmar.
 Be knowledgeable about the College’s guiding statements and provide regular feedback on their ongoing relevance to the operation of the school.
 Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and presentation skills.
 Possess advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare materials parents, prospective students and senior management.
 Have excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and work to time-lines.
 Possess sound computer skills, being able to use MS Word and PowerPoint and have experience of data entry and information management software systems.
 Understand the complexities and needs in working for the best interests of our students
