The Backend Developer will work with the team to design and deliver highly scalable and impactful digital tools across a broad range of programs in the areas of: Financial Inclusion, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Literacy. The candidate should be passionate about the economic and social empowerment of Myanmar people through technology.
 

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

The Backend Developer (BD) will be responsible for ONOW backend integrations and data products. This includes data mesh architecture, Salesforce, mobile apps, and content management systems. Working within a cohesive team and high structured development processes are key. Key Activities include:

• Develop and maintain backend for multiple webapps and tools for ONOW

• Managing databases and APIs

• Using source control (Git) and Devops in cloud

• Disciplined design and coding following SDLC

• Working with Data and Software teams on a Data Mesh architecture

• Working in an Agile Scrum environment

PERFORM OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS NECESSARY

Qualifications

• Bachelors in IT, Computer Science or related field

• Native Burmese speaker and conversational English

• 3 years or more experience in Web and Backend Development

• Values Data security and Quality Documentation

• Constantly Exploring and Learning, passionate about improving entire team

• Ability to understand target users and choose the most appropriate tech

• Emphasis on prototyping and QA

• Experience with Cloud (such as Azure, AWS)

• Experience with Data Mesh architecture and data pipelines a plus

Skills Needed

• Communication: Native Burmese, Moderate English verbal and written

• Software Languages: Java, PHP, JSON, Javascript, Jquery, Node.js

• Architecture: Relational Database (SQL, PostgreSQL), Cloud Servers, Data Security

• REST APIs and Webhooks

• Must have experience in version control system (GitHub , Azure Devops , etc )

• Experience in CRM/ERP (Salesforce, Odoo)

• Familiarity with frontend frameworks

• Organized and Detail oriented

• Willing and able to learn new technology to fit project needs
