Job Summary

Corporate Finance Specialist is responsible for the overall financing matters of the company in MPRL E&P and its related subsidiaries, including providing financial support and general financial management of those companies to ensure efficient use of their financial resources and financial stability.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Ensure optimum capital structure, including but not limited to recommending the right balance of debt and equity mix for any new projects, minimizing the cost of capital and confirming ability of the company to meet its financing obligations.
• Undertake all relevant research and analyses to evaluate the viability of existing as well as any new projects, including formulating business plans, economic models, performing feasibility studies, valuation and cash flow forecast.
• Informing CFO and company senior management on a timely manner, important financial matters for effective management decision-making and to avoid lost opportunities.
• Responsible for the preparation of external financial reporting, including financial statements, management accounts, budgets/forecasts and financial analyses to external parties such as lenders, investors and joint-venture partners. 
• Cash-flow planning and financing execution to ensure availability of funds for business continuity and planned investments.
• Supervise and develop junior corporate finance related staff directly assigned, where appropriate.

Job Description

• Undertake or assist in fund raising initiatives
• Provide strategic insight and knowledge to set the financial direction of the company
• Prepare all necessary reports and analyses to assist with strategic financial planning
• Advise optimum capital structure
• Assist in negotiation and review of financing documents and agreements
• Liaise with all parties involved in financing transactions including but not limited to advisors, lawyers and bankers
• Prepare all necessary reports for external financiers as and when required
• Coordinate due diligence by external financiers
• Monitor and stress test cash flow projections to ensure all financing covenants are adhered to
• Assess and predict financial risks and returns

Education / Experience

• Bachelor of Commerce and CPA / Chartered Accountancy (ACCA is preferable)
• Minimum 8 (preferably 10-12) years’ experience in Finance/Accounting
• Practical experience implementing / working with Oil & Gas Accounting Principles, Procedures & Practices is preferable

Special Skills

• At least moderate technical knowledge of upstream oil & gas industry
• Analytical skills – forecasting, scenario analysis, financial modelling, financial review
• Strong technical skills in using financial software, MS Excel and MS Office
• Strong English language skills for communication (speaking, writing, reading)
