Purpose: DBA (Database Administrator) Senior Engineer role is essential for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of various database systems, including Oracle, MySQL, in-memory databases like QMDB, Redis, and MongoDB. The DBA Senior Engineer ensures the performance, security, and availability of database systems, playing a crucial role in supporting the organization’s data management needs and maintaining data integrity and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, In-memory DB like QMDB, Redis, MongoDB
• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
• Monitor and optimize system performance using index tuning, disk optimization, and query optimization.
• Manage database performance, capacity planning, and scalability.
• Develop, implement, and regularly test database backup and recovery plans.
• Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Implement and enforce database security measures to safeguard sensitive information.
• Manage user access and permissions in compliance with company policies.
• Design and implement database schemas, tables, procedures, and permissions.
• Collaborate with developers and system administrators to ensure seamless integration of applications with database systems.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
• Resolve complex database issues and provide solutions to avoid recurrence.
• Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, maintenance procedures, and backup processes.
• Generate regular reports on database performance, usage, and security.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration.
• Proven experience with Oracle DB, QMDB (from WhaleCloud), Redis, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database management tools.
• Familiarity with in-memory databases and NoSQL databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve database issues.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders.
• Experience with database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), MySQL Database Administrator, MongoDB Certified DBA, or similar are preferred.
