We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our talented technology team of Better HR. A DevOps Engineer has the responsibility to manage and improve the communication between the operational and developmental sides of the software development process. You have to balance several roles in the development process, including computer coding, testing and deployment.  

  • Development - Designing and implementing new features and functionality for product development. Creation of custom modules, creation of coding standard that we are using companywide, creation of clean, logical, well-documented and re-usable code, effective and efficient way to integrate with server, optimized db, and standard unit testing. Helping formulate an effective, elegant design and performance turning it into a working design. 

  • Coding and Technology - Strictly follow the coding guidelines and standard of COO. Ensure new and legacy applications meet quality standards. Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the development. Keeping up-to-date with the latest trend of respective development changes. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git. 

  • Organizational Goal, Procedure and KPI - Understand and follow the procedures of respective department. Clarify and understand your team, departmental and organizational goals with your team supervisor and HOD. Clarify and understand individual short-term and long-term goals and KPI with your supervisor (This is important for your promotion and benefit.) You have full responsibility for your own productivity. Collaborating with organizational activity is a bonus measurement in promotion review. 

  • Project Collaboration - Estimating an effective timeline with COO and Project Management team for mobile application projects. Closely working with QA and project managers. Supporting best technical option to PM. Timely report for the overall status projects using project management tool used by the company. 

  • Team Collaboration - Closely working with your team member. Creating standard guidelines with team lead. Creating and supporting technical workshops for the team. Timely report to team lead for team status. Supporting the best technical option to team lead.

  • Hiring - Assisting hiring processes and new team member training.

Job Requirements

Technical Skills 

  • Strongly familiar with Git, Bash and Bash Scripting

  • Good understanding of Windows and Unix / Linux commands

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or cloud deployment technologies 

  • Good understanding of PHP and Node application servers 

  • Working knowledge of Laravel, Ruby or Python, known DevOps tools like Git and GitLab 

  • Experience with databases and SQL (Structured Query Language) 

  • Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines) 

  • Apply cloud (AWS, Digital Ocean) computing skills to deploy upgrades and fixes 

  • Good understanding of different deployment models including Cloud and On-premises 

  • Good understanding of new and emerging automation tools such as Ansible 

  • Optimize the company’s computing architecture 

  • Conduct systems tests for security, performance, and availability 

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a web developer
