Major Function

Under the supervision of the Livelihoods Development Officer, Junior Enterprise Development Officer shall support in the planning and implementation of forest and agricultural based sustainable livelihood initiatives in the DTL. This includes - socio-economic and livelihood assessments, incubating local businesses, and providing direct support in developing livelihood/enterprise projects for local communities and linking them to markets or business service providers.

Junior Enterprise Development Officer will be based in Dawei and will be required to work closely with local communities, authorities, and local NGOs. He/she normally would spend at least 10 days in communities each month or longer as needed. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Capacity building and backstopping of community enterprise groups
2. Coordination/ Representation
3. Logistics /Finance Support

Qualifications

• Bachelor  degree in rural development, marketing, trades, enterprise management or related subject
• Minimum two years of work experience with NGOs or social enterprise development in Myanmar
• Knowledge of government and development in Myanmar in the field of natural resources, in particular on forestry and agricultural products.
• Strong understanding or/and experience in market research, product development in field of forest or non-timber forest products ( NTFPs), or other agricultural products 
• Understanding of development, socio-economic, political, conservation, and natural resource management issues in Myanmar
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure 
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages
