REPORTING LINE
- You will report to the Purchasing Manager Myanmar and will also be in close contact with the Purchasing Manager Asia in Vietnam.
GOAL
You will start as an analyst in the purchase team. You will get training from the Purchasing Manager Myanmar. Step by step you will learn about the local raw material markets and about the global markets. First your task will be doing research about the most important local raw material: corn. Every month we procure for around $2-3 million of corn. Myanmar is a corn exporting country and you will have to track prices, analyze trade flows, understand production figures and figure out how other market players function. Later, you will get the opportunity to start purchasing the corn yourself. As De Heus is a fast-growing company you can grow together with the company.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(1) Doing market research on local raw materials
- Keep track of prices and trends in the local raw material market
- Analyze supply & demand
- Make reports for the Purchase Manager Myanmar and Managing Director Myanmar
- Look for opportunities in the market.
- Make field trips to corn production regions like Shan State and Ayeyarwaddy Delta, etc.
- Perform other duties related field as assigned by Manager.
(2) Give advice on buying decisions.
(3) Purchase of corn (up to an authorized limit)
- Negotiate with suppliers
- Building up a network among suppliers and traders
- Proper registry offers, agreements and contracts in the IT system
- Monitor logistic and administrative process issues connected with the supply of raw materials
