A Fantastic Opportunity for ...

  • Design Solar PV systems, including single line diagrams, array layouts, fence layout, road layout using Engineering CAD software such as in AutoCAD.
  • Establish Solar PV basis of design including module selection, string sizing, ground coverage ratio, inverter selection, inverter power factor requirements, inverter loading ratio, and cable sizing.
  • Perform energy performance modeling using PVSyst software. Primary use is of PVSyst, but some knowledge of HelioScope and PVSOL is required.
  • Determine suitable locations for solar PV installation based on site visits and risk assessments.
  • Assess/survey site conditions and anticipate issues that may arise during construction.
  • Demonstrate structural, mechanical, and electrical design skills, ability to generate construction drawings.
  • Use excel spreadsheets and calculations to size Solar PV system estimation.
  • Oversee installation of lightning protection systems. Review the test results of solar PV and grounding systems.
  • Develop, prepare and review feasibility studies for solar PV projects.
  • Understanding of utility PPA and Interconnection requirements.
  • Preparation of all documentation for technical due diligence with project requirement.
  • Assess project team and processes to identify how current technologies are being used, how to apply lean techniques, and identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Research and review new technologies of Solar PV system with engineering team members in order to achieve greater effectiveness.
  • Develop new technology evaluation methods and standards.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to tasks, particularly when analyzing current technical tools, and evaluating tools.
  • Communicate field observations with design engineering to achieve design solutions.
  • Read technical articles to keep up with latest products, design techniques, and construction strategies.
  • Identifying and clarifying technical ambiguities and conflicts in the documents.
  • Analyze technical inconsistencies, oversights and mistakes.
  • Provide technical and managerial recommendations to the proposal team based on the project/ contract requirement.
  • Develop the design criteria and the document deliverables list for the project.
  • Able to understand and review substation layout and section drawings.
  • Able to perform protection & control equipment design and application at all stages, starting from conceptual design, design development stage and detailed engineering stage.
  • Prepare conceptual level designs of mega, utilities and commercial solar PV plant.
  • Generate equipment specifications, monitor vendor technical compliance and witness factory acceptance testing.
  • Provide construction, installation & commissioning support.
  • Manage project schedules and budgets to provide accurate resource loading for the project.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering standard and codes is preferred.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and problem solving.
  • 3 plus years of experience in solar PV system design, preferably utility scale.
  • Must be proficient in PVSyst and related solar performance modeling software.
  • Have Degree BSc or MSc level in Electrical Engineering (or an equivalent and relevant qualification).
  • Proficient to advance level experience in working with relevant CAD programmes to complete work / projects efficiently and accurately, and to deadlines.
  • Familiarity in civil design requirements for a Solar PV plant construction.
  • Familiarity with safety, regulatory compliance requirements and construction codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively within a driven work environment.
  • Strong ability to apply innovative and creative skills to problem solving.
