Duties and Responsibilities of Database Administrator

• Database configuration, administration, analysis, maintenance and management
• Design, improve and implementation database infrastructure
• Handle Oracle DR Replication & duplication and shell scripting
• Design and plan requirements for application performance and manage database related strategies
• Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
• Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
• Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
• Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
• Any other duties as and when assigned by team leader or project manager.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/College Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, ASM and other features
• Basic knowledge of DBMS.
•  Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications
• Working knowledge of Oracle SQL Fundamentals, Oracle DR, Oracle Data Pump, Oracle RMAN and PL/SQL
• Basic knowledge of Oracle Fusion Middleware (web logic, web tier)
• Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
