Role Description

Yangon American International School will be organizing a Playgroup for 12 – 36 months old children. The Playgroups will take place at Yangon American school campus once a week for one hour. The aim of the Playgroup is to help children develop social, emotional, sensory and motor skills. The leader will be provided with a detailed lesson plan which they will have to implement during the Playgroup. Yangon American will provide with all the required resources. The leader will communicate progress of each child on a regular basis with their parents.

Main Duties

• Follow the program written by Yangon American and lead the Playgroup.
• Set up Playgroup activity equipment before the children arrive at the playgroup and tidy away equipment at the end of the playgroup session.
• Keep track of each child’s progress on a weekly basis.
• To guide, observe, stimulate and supervise the Playgroup for the wellbeing of all children
• Communicate with the adult (mother, father or caretaker) about matters that requires attention
• Ensure records are properly maintained, such as: attendance register, accident & incident report books.

Responsibilities

• The leader must be a reliable and have a child friendly nature.
• The leader should have a genuine interest in the care and education for children.
• The leader must have experience in working with young children.
• The leader should be able to communicate well and effectively with the adults coming along with the children.
