The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the entire accounting and financial management functions of the company. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, internal controls, inventory accounting, and compliance.

 Financial Management

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Manage period-end closing processes and ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
• Conduct cost analysis and profitability tracking for business operations.
• Provide financial insights and reports to senior management.

 Inventory & Metal Accounting

• Monitor and reconcile gold, diamond, and jewellery inventory.
• Track metal loss, wastage, and production variance.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation based on market gold rates.
• Perform regular stock reconciliation with showroom and warehouse records.

Compliance & Taxation

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and submit GST / VAT filings and tax reports.
• Manage customs documentation and export/import financial records.
• Coordinate with auditors for statutory and internal audits.

 Internal Controls

• Implement strong internal control systems to prevent fraud or pilferage.
• Establish stock verification procedures for high-value inventory.
• Maintain segregation of duties within the accounting department.
• Monitor financial transactions through ERP and accounting systems.

 Banking & Financial Operations

• Manage working capital and cash flow planning.
• Handle bank reconciliation and banking relationships.
• Manage gold metal loans and financing facilities.
• Oversee LC (Letter of Credit) and BG (Bank Guarantee) documentation for import/export activities.

• Advanced accounting knowledge

• Inventory valuation methods

• ERP systems (e.g., Tally, SAP)

• MS Excel (advanced)

• Knowledge of bullion accounting

🔹 Qualifications

• CA / CPA / ACCA (preferred)

• B.Com / M.Com

• 8–15+ years of experience (jewellery or manufacturing preferred)
