2. Stakeholder Relationships
A. Internal Relationships (Cross-Departmental Collaboration)

  • Business Unit Heads & Subsidiary Finance Teams: Partner with Business Unit Heads to align operational strategies with financial goals, and direct subsidiary finance teams in reviewing monthly financial performance and validating Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) requests for Trading, Mining, Solar, and Construction sectors.
  • Project & Tender Teams: Work hand-in-hand to review financial feasibility, risk profiles, and funding requirements for government and private tenders.
  • Legal & Compliance Department: Partner to ensure all contracts, joint ventures, and mining concessions are legally sound and financially protected.
  • Procurement & Supply Chain Management: Oversee cash flow synchronization for heavy equipment procurement (Mining/Construction) and inventory financing (Trading/Solar).
  • Human Resources: Review and approve payroll structures, executive compensation, and finance department KPIs.

B. External Relationships (Stakeholder Management)

  • Internal Revenue Department (IRD): Act as the ultimate authority for the company on all tax-related matters, ensuring accurate corporate income tax, commercial tax, and resource-specific taxes are settled, whilst managing tax audits and compliance.
  • Government Ministries & Regulatory Bodies: Liaise with relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Ministry of Construction, and Ministry of Electricity and Energy regarding licenses, concessions, and compliance.
  • Banks & Financial Institutions: Maintain and leverage high-level relationships with local and international banks to secure corporate credit lines, project financing, trade finance facilities, and favorable foreign exchange (FX) rates.
  • External Auditors & Tax Consultants: Oversee the annual statutory audit process, ensuring smooth coordination and timely finalization of consolidated financial statements.
  • Shareholders: Provide transparent financial reporting and performance updates during Annual General Meetings (AGM) and board meetings.

3. Key Accountability

Strategic Financial Leadership: Align the financial strategies of all diversified business units with the overall corporate vision and growth objectives.
Capital Allocation & Fund Management: Optimize liquidity, manage corporate financing, and ensure efficient funding for high-capital projects (Mining, Construction, and Tenders).
Risk Management & Internal Controls: Establish and enforce rigorous financial controls, risk mitigation frameworks, and governance standards across all subsidiaries.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and evaluate the financial health and operational efficiency of each distinct business sector, providing data-driven insights to the Board.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure 100% compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local tax laws, and sector-specific regulatory requirements (especially in Mining and Construction).
4. Roles & Responsibilities

A. Strategic Planning & Financial Analysis

  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes for the parent company and all subsidiaries.
  • Evaluate and advise on investment opportunities, joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and major project tenders (e.g., Solar and Infrastructure projects).
  • Conduct feasibility studies and financial modeling for capital-intensive sectors like Mining and Construction.

B. Subsidiary & Portfolio Management (Diversified Operations)

  • Standardize accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting formats across all business units while respecting sector-specific nuances.
  • Monitor cost structures and revenue recognition models specific to each industry:
    • Trading & Solar Project: Inventory valuation, supply chain financing, and FX risk management.
    • Mining: Capital expenditure (CAPEX) control, production cost accounting, and asset depreciation.
