JOB SUMMARY
The Production Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, monitoring, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and workplace safety. The role supports production operations through process development, technical problem-solving, continuous improvement initiatives, and implementation of engineering standards. The Production Process Engineer works closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, R&D, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives and manufacturing excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Development and Optimization
• Design, develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes and workflows.
• Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement and waste reduction.
• Establish and maintain process parameters, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Support new product introduction and process validation activities.
• Conduct process capability studies and recommend improvements.
Production Support and Troubleshooting
• Monitor daily production activities and provide technical support to production teams.
• Investigate process deviations, equipment issues, and product quality concerns.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and process stability.
Continuous Improvement
• Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Continuous Improvement projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance.
• Reduce manufacturing waste, process variation, downtime, and operational costs.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend improvement actions.
Data Analysis and Reporting
• Collect, analyze, interpret, and present production and process performance data.
• Utilize process monitoring tools, statistical methods, and analytical techniques to evaluate performance.
• Prepare technical reports, process evaluations, and engineering recommendations.
• Support management decision-making through data-driven analysis.
Documentation and Compliance
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, process flow charts, and technical standards.
• Prepare equipment requirements, technical specifications, and project-related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality management systems, and applicable standards.
• Participate in internal and external audits as required.
Safety, Health and Environmental Responsibilities
• Follow and promote workplace safety standards and safe operating practices.
• Conduct risk assessments and support hazard prevention activities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Support the development of a strong safety culture throughout production operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, and R&D teams.
• Provide technical training and guidance to production personnel when required.
• Support technology transfer, process scale-up, and manufacturing improvement projects.
• Coordinate with external suppliers, contractors, and business partners on technical matters.
