Position Summary
The Project Engineer (Civil) is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring all civil engineering activities on construction projects to ensure they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations. The role works closely with project managers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise civil engineering works from project initiation to completion.
• Review project drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and contract documents.
• Develop work plans, schedules, and resource requirements in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Ensure construction activities are executed according to approved plans and project milestones.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, structural engineers, and consultants.
• Site Supervision
• Supervise daily construction activities and monitor site progress.
• Ensure work is carried out in compliance with engineering standards and approved methods.
• Verify setting out, dimensions, and construction levels.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance.
• Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions.
• Quality Control
• Ensure all civil works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct inspections and coordinate with the QA/QC team.
• Review and approve material submittals and method statements.
• Monitor concrete works, structural works, finishing works, and infrastructure activities.
• Ensure timely rectification of defects and non-conformities.
• Project Monitoring & Reporting
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Identify project risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Report delays, technical issues, and resource constraints to the Project Manager.
• Maintain project documentation and engineering records.
• Cost & Budget Control
• Monitor quantities and material usage.
• Review contractor progress claims and payment certificates.
• Assist with cost estimation and budget monitoring.
• Support variation order evaluations and cost control measures.
• Contract Administration
• Review contract drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs), technical clarifications, and site instructions.
• Assist with contract compliance and project documentation.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and clients.
• Procurement Coordination
• Coordinate with the Procurement Department on material requirements.
• Verify material specifications and technical compliance.
• Monitor delivery schedules for construction materials.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid project delays.
• Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and local regulations.
• Promote a safe working environment.
• Participate in safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
• Report accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly.
• Ensure contractors comply with safety procedures.
• Stakeholder Coordination
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and government authorities.
• Attend project meetings and prepare technical updates.
• Coordinate engineering activities across all project disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineering Registration is an advantage.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in civil engineering and construction projects.
• Experience with high-rise buildings, commercial developments, industrial facilities, infrastructure projects, or luxury residential developments.
• Experience managing contractors and subcontractors.
• Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of structural and civil engineering principles.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with Myanmar construction regulations and international engineering standards.
• Understanding of project scheduling and construction sequencing.
