What we do

KBZMS General Insurance Co., Ltd was established as Myanmar's first officially licensed insurance company under the name of IKBZ in September 2012, with license number 001.

After forming a joint venture with the Japanese insurance company Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group (MSIG) in November 2019, IKBZ continued to operate under the new name KBZMS.

KBZMS operates out of 23 branch offices in 21 cities: Yangon, Mandalay, Naypyitaw, Taunggyi, Pyay, Pathein, Sittwe, Magway, Meiktila, Pakkoku, Monwya, Kalay, Myitkyinar, Lashio, Bago, Mawlamyine, Myeik, Myingyan, Tachileik, Hinthada & Taungoo.

In October 1st, 2020, KBZMS expanded its Commercial Lines product portfolio to provide coverage in industrial-related risks, construction, and electrical hazards.

Our products cover the full range of individuals' and organizations' general insurance needs including fire insurance, motor insurance, marine cargo insurance, personal accident insurance, health insurance, and as well as Commercial Lines, covering Industrial All Risk, Construction All Risk/Erection All Risk and Bailee’s Liability Insurance products.

Conduct daily on-the-job training for KBZMS Partners. Provide ongoing mentoring and operational support. Manage daily sales activities and ensure quality control standards are met. Achieve minimum numbers of policies and case sizes within the area of responsibility. Meet group production targets and ensure policy renewals within the designated area. Ensure policies are issued within the desired turnaround time (TAT). Prepare and present sales and recruitment reports. Execute sales and marketing campaigns effectively. Provide necessary support to the team and other departments as required.
Purpose of the Role The primary role of this actuarial position is to provide comprehensive support in various actuarial functions through rigorous data analysis, accurate valuation and solvency calculations, and efficient product pricing. The position entails extracting, cleaning, and analyzing data to inform business decisions and incorporating these analyses into management reports. Key responsibilities include supporting the calculation of actuarial reserves and solvency capital, aiding in the pricing of new products, and coordinating with the appointed actuary to resolve data queries. Duties and Responsibilities Implementation and Compliance Support the implementation of actuarial reserves in accordance with IBRB directives. Support the implementation of capital adequacy ratios in accordance with IBRB directives. Coordinate the submission of actuarial and risk-related data to regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines. Data Analysis and Reporting Extract data from databases based on specific business parameters. Clean and validate extracted data and perform analyses on data sets. Conduct in-depth data analysis for management reporting, including data collection, cleaning, and validation. Incorporate results of data analyses in management reports. Actuarial Valuation and Solvency Support the calculation of actuarial reserves such as IBNR. Participate in the calculation of solvency capital as per FRD's instructions. Product Development and Pricing Support product development and product pricing, including preparation of actuarial certificates in collaboration with external actuarial advisors. Support the pricing of new products through various methods such as Excel modeling, expense studies, or claim studies. Liaise with the appointed actuary on any data queries.
Drafting and Review Agreements/Contracts, Myanmar, and English. Provides legal opinions/reviews and drafting on corporate contracts, interpretations, disputed claims, and policy documentations and in product developments. Providing timely and responsive legal research, review, advice, and documentation, assigned by Head of Legal and Seniors. Determine the strategies for internal and external legal advisory approaches and the scope of legal advice offered to stakeholders. Provide legal advice and updates on current legal positions and communicate legal briefs to senior management. Support business growth through providing compliance policies, and strategic and operational legal guidance to senior management. Other legal and administrative tasks such as preparing presentation materials, and drafting minutes for meetings. Manage and prepare for Monthly/Quarterly Legal and Compliance Reports. Manage the Legal & Compliance team’s performance and provide coaching and training. Manage and keep updating a record of new/amended laws, rules, regulations, notifications, directives, and Myanmar Gazette from Regulatory/Government and report to the Management Team. Manage and support legal issue or operational issue of other departments including legal affairs training when necessary. To draft Monitor reports and update new laws and regulations to the Management. Other duties assigned by the Management Team of the Company.

Lead the implementation of annual strategic business plans in alignment with broader company goals and objectives. Conduct market analysis, customer analytics, and competitor analysis to ensure strategies are effective and on track. Collaborate closely with the Product team to ensure the development of products that align with the strategic partnerships channel. Develop a pipeline of new strategic partnerships .
