POSITION PURPOSE
Wave Money is a ‘mobile money’ financial services organization in Myanmar, headquartered in Yangon. Wave Money is transforming its technology and operations. To deliver our digital strategy we are seeking and API Developer to design, build, test, deploy and maintain our internal and external API’s.
The API Developer:
• Will have strong expertise in Java and Spring as well as the tools in the software development life-cycle that are used to create microservices based on these technologies.
• Creates new RESTful and SOAP APIs updates existing APIs returning JSON payloads.
• Assists in the configuration of automated API test tools such as JMeter.
• Has experience of working with automated build and test tools such a Jenkins, Gradle, Cucumber, etc.
Experience of Mule Anypoint Platform is highly desirable as is knowledge of Behavioral Driven Development and working in an Agile environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Design and build middleware and APIs using Mulesoft Anypoint Platform
• Ensuring non-regression when developing new features
• Ability to prioritize team work through balancing both long and short term objectives.
• Communicate development status updates to manager
• Support middleware deployment, product change and go-live activities (this will involve regular participation in non-business hours operation)
• Ensure middleware environment run smoothly with zero outage
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the middleware APIs
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Support & maintain code quality, organization, and automation
• Support middleware related incident response and report

EXPERIENCE, FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE AREAS
1. Education and qualifications: Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science or Technology
2. Functional skills and knowledge areas:
• 3+ years of experience in API/backend development
• Excellent understanding of programming patterns and ability to architect elegant solutions to complex problems
• Flexibility to deal with a rapidly changing environment
• Understanding of security standards and best practices in middleware/API development
• Passion for quality and maintainability of code
• Expertise in one or more of the following: Java, J2EE, Spring Framework
