Role summary: • The Team / Section Leader of the Application Services is expected to lead a team of System Analyst / Analyst Programmers to deliver application services-related for the benefit of the company.• The role holder would be required to manage the application services delivery as well as ensure that production-related issues are being managed & addressed in accordance to the Service Level AgreementsResponsibilities:Setting Up Products: • Manage the system vendors (both existing & future technology partners) for the setting up of products in Tharmarwaddy & TCS’ BaNCS accordingly. This requires alignemt with the BCP team to align system solutions with the business requirement specifications.• Lead the Application Services team to ensure that o Quality solutions are delivered within the agreed timeline o User manuals are prepared for user acceptance testSystem Enhancements:• Ensuring that the team manage any Change Requests based on what has been articulated & signed off by the business owners, with the use of effective application change control processes. Implementing New Core PAS:• Managing the agreed deliverables, based on the agrees statement of work with TCS & ensuring that the Application Services team conforms to the agreed application change control processes.Business As Usual Process:• Ensures that the teamo Maintains the distributed databases, ensures high performance, and responds to requests from the front-end o Troubleshoots and investigates help desk tickets submitted by end userso Provide the first level support for application related issues, for the future Core PAS & liaise with TCS for any support escalation o Prepare application issue reportsData Extraction:• Support business users by extracting required data to be able to make business decision and to meet business goalsAd-hoc Reports:• Support business users in producing ad-hoc reports for business decisions to meet strategic business needs.
Experience:• Over five-year experiences in IT Field, preferably within the insurance industry• Has previous experience in leading a team of application developersCompetencies:• Articulate and proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal• A logical approach to problem solving;• Very good knowledge in system analysis and design• Good interpersonal skills with strong technical ability to manage system implementation and change control• Ability to work well under pressure• Knowledge of various personal and commercial lines of insurance products is an added advantageQualifications:• Master in Information Technology /Computer Science, though Bachelor degree holders with excellent academic achievements would be considered
