• Monitor to ensure the Company Compliance framework is embedded in the business and identify opportunities to enhance the compliance framework.

• Provide governance oversight of compliance risk ensuring it is within expressed risk tolerances aligned to strategic, business and financial objectives.

• Provide governance oversight that the Pacific countries are conducting business in accordance with laws, regulations and adopted codes of their respective country and Company.

• Monitor that the Pacific businesses are complying with reporting and escalation processes in accordance with Company’s Compliance Frameworks.

• Partner with senior Business and Risk stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes from regulatory, testing, audit and business governance reviews.

• Drive key relationships to understand the needs of stakeholders to assist in providing effective and proactive compliance management and to ensure minimal impact to the external customer experience
• Ensure accreditation relevant to your role is maintained and applied.

• Complete all relevant Internal Checks on time.

• Ensure that all incidents raised are logged in the appropriate systems within required timeframes and mitigation action taken.

• Co-ordinate Risk response to compliance issues raised by internal and/or external governance stakeholders (including Audit and regulators) to ensure that appropriate actions are identified, ownership assigned and monitored for completion.

• Completion of mandatory risk training (i.e. Company essentials)

• Acting in accordance with the Company Values, Code of Conduct, and policies.

• Keep abreast of industry changes and professional practices ensuring Company undertaking compliance ’best-practice’ in line with Company Group. Proactive participation in key compliance groups and engagement with key internal/external stakeholders.

• Effectively manage the relationship and expectations between Risk and the business and frequently design wide solutions to manage issues and avoid compliance breaches.

• Keep abreast of business strategies and initiatives. Understand specific needs and challenges faced by relative country

• Tertiary qualifications in a business-related or financial discipline
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within financial services
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Sound knowledge of operating risk and compliance policies and procedures
• Sound knowledge of banking practices, relevant legislation, statutory and regulatory requirements
• Open and honest attitude aligned to the Company values
• Previous experience of managing processes with tight timelines and cut-offs
• Past experience in process improvement initiatives
