OVERALL SCOPE
To be responsible, under the direction of Head of Collection for the management of the operational collections teams within Yoma Bank Collections & Recoveries & to contribute to efficient and effective management of Delinquent & NPL Accounts & Customers

DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To ensure that all delinquent/NPL accounts assigned to Yoma Bank collections have an assigned collector and are actioned & monitored as agreed with HOC & Team Manager
• To assist the team mangers in the weekly reviews of all accounts assigned to collectors
• Assist Head of Collection in ensuring all 90+dpd accounts are met with at least monthly until the arrears are resolved or the account status excludes meetings e.g. court cases
• Liaise with other department stakeholders for the delinquent accounts actions follow up.
• Organize the regular meeting with credit risk team to brief on the delinquent account learnings to assist in refining lending policies and process.
• Assist in ensuring that all risk assets in the delinquency portfolio are correctly credit graded/classified and are realistically provisioned.
• Provide guidance to other Departments and Branches of the Bank on all aspects of problem loan recognition and management.
• Set the targets achievement for the recovery team and closely monitor the collection & recovery efforts of team members.
• Ensure that the Managers & Collectors are appropriately trained relative to their role requirements
• Ensure all managers & collectors have KPI’s appropriate to their roles
• To ensure all managers and collectors have development plans appropriate to their role needs
• To ensure that the teams have weekly team meetings and that each collector has a 1:1 meeting with their direct manager every two weeks
• To ensure that managers and collectors are using CMC correctly and fully understand the capabilities it offers Yoma Bank Collections
• To assist the HOC with the implementation of collections related projects
• To assist the HOC in developing training programs for collections staff

MEASURMENT
• Delinquency & NPL Reduction levels against target
• The improvement in Credit Audit Ratings for Delinquency & NPL portfolio management over time
• Drive and monitor team performance with a view to ensuring compliance with agreed service levels
• Successful completion of assigned projects
• Performance Appraisal of subordinate submitted on time

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Skill
Essential
• A sound knowledge of lending in the Myanmar market, gained through practical experience.
• Sound knowledge of Myanmar legal processes at a level which would enable accounts with legal implications to be appropriately managed
• Be familiar with Myanmar collateral documentation and identify any inherent errors
• An ability to communicate with and influence customers and, within Yoma Bank, all levels of management and staff
• Consistently deliver high levels of results, using constructive credit management techniques and to exceed multiple, challenging performance objectives
• Have high level of attention to details.
• An ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
• Have strong organizational skills and time management abilities
• Adapts easily to new environment and can work with a variety of people
• Available to travel to branches across the country for collections activities.
• Act as Liaison Manager for Yoma Bank Branch network
enquiries.

Education and Special Training
Essential
• Completion of Tertiary qualifications, preferably in a business or related field such as Bachelor of Business, Management, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics and/or industry specific qualifications.
Desirable
• MBA

Experience
Essential
• Experience of managing a medium sized Monitoring and collection team
• Possess a proven track record at senior management level with experience of applying sound judgement in credit decisions in all parts of credit cycle

Language
Essential
• Sound and effective interpersonal & communication skills in both Myanmar and English languages.
