Science Technician
The British School of Yangon is seeking a Science Technician to provide technical support to the Science Department. This is a varied role and duties will include preparing materials and resources for lessons, setting up equipment for practical lessons and assisting teaching staff with practical work. You will be an integral part of the Science Faculty and provide valuable support to the teaching staff. You will be required to work in accordance with strict health and safety guidance and procedures to ensure that a healthy, safe and productive learning and teaching environment is maintained. The ideal candidate will have a background and keen interest in Science. Experience of working as a Science Technician would be advantageous but is not essential. Strong communication, flexibility and organisational skills are key to this role, as is a calm, friendly and helpful manner.

Job Requirements
Qualifications: Minimum qualification of A Level in Science or a degree in Science is desirable.
Experience of working in a Science Laboratory working across Science subjects (Biology, Chemistry & Physics)
The ability to provide technical support for Science subjects (KS3, KS4)
Good communication skills with the ability to relate well to young people and to provide technical support assistance to both staff and students in the department
An awareness and understanding of Health & Safety and the ability to carry out Health & Safety checks
The ability to organise and take care of laboratory equipment and apparatus, including maintenance and repair of equipment
The ability to keep an up-to-date inventory of equipment and chemical supplies
The ability to work as part of a team and be flexible and adaptable
The ability to follow instructions as directed by the Head of Science
Knowledge of HAZCARDS and CLEAPPS
Willingness to attend training and professional development as required
The ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
Excellent organisational skills
An understanding and awareness of Equal Opportunities
