Role summary:

• The Analyst Programmer specializes in engaging and supporting system implementation and maintenance
• The role holder would be required to develop, maintain and modify solutions which match that stated in the requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Implementing a new Core Policy Admin System, Digital Solutions as stated in the business plans
  • Participates in the migration of the existing legacy core system to the new enterprise core insurance system
  • Gets involved in the implementation of various digital solutions to support the business units in enhancing the business process capabilities
• System Maintenance:

• Works closely with the system vendors and users to eliminate system bugs
• Conducts system review and testing
• Makes sure the delivery of quality solutions within the agreed timeline

• System Enhancements:
  • Manages changes to baseline requirements with the use of effective application change control processes.
• Business As Usual Process:
  • Maintains the distributed databases, ensures high performance, and responds to requests from the front-end
  • Troubleshoots and investigates help desk tickets submitted by end users
  • Responds in a timely manner and supports urgent user requests
  • Executes weekly backup/restore plan of SQL Server Databases and backup storage solutions
  • Prepares application issue reports

• Data Extraction:

Supports business users by extracting required data to be able to make business decisions and to meet business goals

Experience:

• Over two-year experiences in IT Field, preferably within the insurance industry

Competencies:

• Articulate and proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• A logical approach to problem solving
• Very good knowledge in SDLC and OOP. Some experience in different development methodologies besides waterfall (e.g. agile) would be an added advantage
• Good interpersonal skills with strong technical ability to manage system maintenance and change control
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Knowledge of various personal and commercial lines of insurance products is an added advantage

Qualifications:

• Degree in Information Technology /Computer Science
