  • Develop and execute the financial strategy to support the company's growth objectives, considering the cyclical nature of the oil and gas industry.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team and the board of directors.
  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Assess the financial impact of capital investments, exploration projects, and asset acquisitions.
  • Manage financial risk by evaluating and implementing strategies for hedging against commodity price fluctuations, interest rate changes, and currency risks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate legal and financial risks.
  • Optimize the company's capital structure and manage debt and equity financing.
  • Oversee capital allocation, including investments in exploration, drilling, and infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including quarterly and annual reports, in compliance with industry-specific accounting standards (e.g., FASB, IFRS).
  • Maintain relationships with external auditors and regulators.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to maximize tax efficiency while complying with local and international tax laws.
  • Manage tax compliance and reporting.
  • Optimize cash flow management and liquidity to support daily operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee banking relationships and investment portfolios.
  • Assess the financial viability of potential acquisitions, mergers, or divestitures.
  • Lead financial due diligence and integration efforts during M&A activities.
  • Cultivate relationships with investors, analysts, and stakeholders by providing transparent and accurate financial information.
  • Participate in earnings calls, investor presentations, and conferences.
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Extensive experience in financial leadership roles within the oil and gas industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to provide financial leadership in a dynamic and volatile industry.
