Develop and execute the financial strategy to support the company's growth objectives, considering the cyclical nature of the oil and gas industry.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team and the board of directors.
Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning processes.
Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
Assess the financial impact of capital investments, exploration projects, and asset acquisitions.
Manage financial risk by evaluating and implementing strategies for hedging against commodity price fluctuations, interest rate changes, and currency risks.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate legal and financial risks.
Optimize the company's capital structure and manage debt and equity financing.
Oversee capital allocation, including investments in exploration, drilling, and infrastructure projects.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including quarterly and annual reports, in compliance with industry-specific accounting standards (e.g., FASB, IFRS).
Maintain relationships with external auditors and regulators.
Develop and implement tax strategies to maximize tax efficiency while complying with local and international tax laws.
Manage tax compliance and reporting.
Optimize cash flow management and liquidity to support daily operations and strategic initiatives.
Oversee banking relationships and investment portfolios.
Assess the financial viability of potential acquisitions, mergers, or divestitures.
Lead financial due diligence and integration efforts during M&A activities.
Cultivate relationships with investors, analysts, and stakeholders by providing transparent and accurate financial information.
Participate in earnings calls, investor presentations, and conferences.
Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
Extensive experience in financial leadership roles within the oil and gas industry.
In-depth knowledge of industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinking and the ability to provide financial leadership in a dynamic and volatile industry.
