ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Under the direct supervision and direct report to Line Manager, In-depth understanding Generator Unit, Engineering Section, Responsible for Maintenance, repair, overhaul, and rebuilding of high-speed diesel generators and pumps within a sector of the Mission Area. Troubleshoots and repairs alternating current electrical systems on generators, automatic transfer switches, generator controls and engine related mechanical failures; and performs routine preventative maintenance, oil and filter changes and inspections on all generator and by-pass pumps.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be able to read Auto and sketches for diagram.

• Installs and maintains the generator wiring, electric motors, and machines
• Repairs electrical faults in generators, alternators, pumps, electric motors and low voltage switchboards.
• Able to Read and interprets mechanical drawings.
• Well experiences from 5 KVA up to 300 KVA generator power.
• Inspects maintains and repairs generator sets and diesel driven pumps.
• Overhauls and rebuilds generators 8. Perform other duties as required.
• Run load bank tests on diesel, natural gas and propane generators
• Diagnose and repair any issues found during initial testing
• Troubleshoots and repairs alternating current electrical systems on generators
• Perform voltage changes on generators based on customer requirements
• Re-wire, adjust and install control panels and voltage regulators
• Adjust speed controls and various settings
• Change filters and perform standard service on units
• Sustained high degree of care and awareness required to prevent injuries to others
• Electrical troubleshooting and relay logic
• Knowledge of AC/DC power
• Work closely with the Line Manager on project progress, estimates, etc.
• Assist with other Tasks as required (Electrical, ACMC, Etc..) within M&E Service.
• Must be able to be on-call for emergency services.
• Must be able to respond to emergency repairs as needed (By Phone / Video online solution)

• Graduation – B,Tech or  AGTI – Electrical Power or Any a Technical school is desired
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of generator systems from 5KVA to 300 KVA preferred
• Electrical or mechanical / technologist with at least ten years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of environmental protection procedures and basic safety practices in electricity
• Exceptional communication skills to work with team and customers directly on occasion
• Proficient with estimating time required to complete tasks.
• Experience working with large industrial power generation equipment
• Any other various certifications are a plus / Not required but advantage
