Job Description

A Big Opportunity for ...

Lead the development, review and enhancement of credit policies, underwriting guidelines, SOPs, lending procedures and credit risk appetite frameworks.
Align credit strategy and origination standards with business objectives while maintaining sustainable and profitable portfolio growth.
Oversee end-to-end credit assessment, underwriting, approval, customer verification and credit quality within delegated authority.
Monitor the performance and compliance of Credit Underwriting Officers and Area Managers – Credit Underwriting.
Monitor PAR, NPLs, default rates, asset quality and overall portfolio performance, and provide timely risk recommendations.
Lead the Company’s Credit Risk Management Framework, including Credit Risk Policy, Risk Appetite Statement, Key Credit Risk Indicators and risk validation processes.
Ensure credit activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, procedures and control standards.
Conduct credit risk assessment, stress testing and scenario analysis, and develop appropriate mitigation and response plans.
Act as Secretary of the Credit Committee and manage meetings, minutes, credit decisions, documentation and follow-up actions.
Prepare and present analytical credit portfolio, risk and compliance reports to the CEO, Senior Management and Board of Directors.
Provide guidance, coaching and development to Loan Officers, Credit Underwriting Officers, Branch Managers and Credit Team members.
Set and monitor team KPIs and support performance management and career development.
Develop credit recovery, collection and loss prevention strategies and oversee recovery activities across branches.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 10 years of credit experience in Banking/Microfinance, with strong knowledge of microfinance operations, particularly credit underwriting, assessment and team management.
Professional qualification in Credit Risk Management, with strong expertise in credit policies, procedures, risk management frameworks, credit underwriting and Credit Committee processes.
Strong knowledge of loan products, credit operations and regulatory compliance.
Strong managerial, leadership and general management capabilities with proven ability to lead high-performing teams.
Knowledge of data analysis, data modelling and validation tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint and other relevant systems.
Strong communication, presentation, analytical and decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively with senior management, government agencies, financial institutions, banks and external partners.
Able to work under pressure and thrive in a performance-oriented environment.
Self-motivated, achievement-oriented and a strong team player with high integrity and professionalism.
