Contribute towards formulation of strategy, annual business plans, policies and procedures pertaining to Recovery & Collections department, to support organizational business strategy.
Set out the principles, methodology and techniques to establish effective retail and corporate collection/ recovery management for the Bank.
Update self on the regulatory requirements/changes set by CBM and other relevant government bodies, and, implement changes in the department, including but not limited to staffing of employees, department deliverables etc. in close coordination with the Head of Risk.
Ensure updates are made on the existing policies and procedures of the department based on changing market conditions, CBM regulations and other leading practices and guidelines to establish a sound environment for recovery & collection efforts.
Daily review of workout and recovery work plan
Charter the 60 to 120 joint effort recovery with the Relationship Managers – Corporate / Commercial.
Run recovery and collection procedures (calls, letters, emails) as defined in dedicated manuals
Document recovery and collection efforts in a dedicated client file
Restructure non-performing facilities, negotiate with clients restructuring terms, liaise with legal counsels in drafting legal agreements
Liaise with approved valuation agents on collateral value estimation
Oversee to ensure timely assignment of the delinquent cases to the Retail / Corporate Recovery and Collections Officers; decide and recommend cases to be transferred to the Legal Department.
Work closely with the Legal / Risk to ensure that disputes / complaints raised by the customers, if any, are promptly resolved.
Monitor daily product, bucket and volume wise analysis of delinquent or paid cases on the new inflows, Back flows, Forward flows, Stabilized cases, Normalized and Resolved cases for management updates.
Guide the team in adhering to the Turnaround Times (TAT) specified in the Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Job Requirements

Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in Banking with strong understanding of Loan products and recovery process
Hands-on experience in Collections Processes - well versed of market dynamics and industry’s best collection practices and litigation proceedings for loan portfolio.
Practical knowledge and experience on unsecured, collections and recovery system
Possess a sound understanding of all key aspects of risk management from collections and restructuring of facilities (loans)
Able to lead and motivate team members to excel in performance.
Possess strong communications and negotiation skills.
Possess good interpersonal and people management skills
Possess strong process and workflow management skills
