Investment Controller (Implementation Budget Control)

• Translate financial model outputs into a detailed master budget with cost categories, disbursement plans, contingency rules, variance thresholds, and escalation mechanisms.
• Track weekly budget vs actual spending, analyze variance causes, validate procurement costs and variation orders, and escalate deviations to management and IC when thresholds are breached. 
• Monitor EBITDA, cash flow, working capital, and IRR drift. Produce weekly/monthly dashboards and financial insights to sustain returns and support operational decision-making.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies. 
• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and economic factors that impact investments.
• Performance & Budget Controller ensures financial discipline during project execution and post-commission operations.
• The role owns implentation phase 5 monitoring phase, including converting the IC-approved investment amount into a master budget, monitoring weekly cost variance during execution, and tracking financial 
• performance after commissioning to preserve expected returns.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or similar
• 3–7 years of experience in FP&A, audit, finance, project cost control, or management accounting
• Professional qualifications, such as CPA/ACCA/CIMA, are an advantage
• Proven experience as a financial controller, Sr finance manager, or similar role in investment firms or financial services is an advantage
• Strong accounting and budgeting knowledge 
• Cost variance analysis & financial reporting 
• Excel dashboards; PowerBI/Tableau is a plus 
• Ability to challenge assumptions using evidence
• Experience working with procurement & operations
