Job Description
- Motivate and Manage the Deck Crew & onboard scaffolders or Rope access technicians.
- Adhere to and closely Follow transport regulations, both national and international for Sea and Air transport for all goods especially any hazardous goods or waste materials.
- Ensures that all helicopter movements in the field are coordinated & controlled in accordance with International guidelines, as Helicopter Landing Officer on the SHP Platform.
- Coordinate all movement of marine vessels operating within the 500 meter exclusion zone under the direction of the OIM and in accordabce with established procedures.
- Ensures that safe routine crane operating duties including cargo loading/offloading, personnel basket transfers and assistance to Drilling where required while interfacing with Drilling Logistics Supervisor.
- Liaise closely with Camp Boss to ensure the timely offloading & transfer of Fresh & Frozen produce containers.
- Organise the careful segregation of all facility waste, i.e. organic and non organic, hazardous & non hazardous and transport all Waste safely to onshore via supply boat chain.
- Ensure that sufficient hazardous & non hazardous waste skips are available at all times on SHP.
- Through liaising with the Crane Operator(s), ensures daily, weekly and monthly crane checks and routines (including rope greasing) are completed and that the appropriate check lists are updated & uploaded to CMMS.
- Ensure that the lifting & rigging recertification program is smoothly implemented with minimum interuption to Platform Operations.
- Oversees the change out of rigging equipment and load testing of pad eyes etc. as per the materials handling program.
- Ensure the safe & efficient transfers of bulk materials, diesel fuel, methanol, glycol and movement of tote tanks.
- Ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner, utilising all safety equipment & PPE necessary to complete the specific work.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis or Task Risk Assessments as & when required.
- Know & Understand your role as defined in the ('Emergency Response Team') in an emergency situation & in emergency exercises / drills.
- Participate in all relevant Investigations of Incidents related to equipment on the facility.
- Conduct Helideck emergency drills with Helideck Assistants and ensure these are recorded by Safety Officer.
- Report to Main Supv / OIM daily on all planned logistics activities for SHP.
- Direct the deck crew and liaise with contractor teams for daily operations and requirements.
- Liaise with Onshore logistics controller (Aviation and Marine) for transportation movements.
- Liaise with Drilling Logistic coordinator for materials movements.
- Liaise with Maintenance Supervisor or Discipline Supervisors for materials movements and back loading etc.
- Liaise with Camp Boss for provisions supply, storage and movements.
- Liaise with Main Supv for fabric maintenance works, deck works, materials movements, crane operations and trade assistance requirements.
- Liaise with discipline supervisors as required to assist any ongoing rigging or material handling requirements and assistance.
- Make up and maintain a materials handling plan register and update as required.
- Control the rigging loft and portable lifting equipment issue as required.
- Maintain a rigging equipment register logging where all items are located / in use
- Oversee the change out of rigging equipment and load testing of pad eyes etc as per the mechanical handling program.
- Instruct Scaffolders for staging requirements and scaffold building.
- Monitor and control the work being carried out by the deck crew.
- Feedback information / history as required into the CMMS for Deck Crew works.
- Oversee the loading of diesel and pot water etc supplies from support vessels
- Assume your role as defined in the ('Emergency Response Team') in an emergency situation & in emergency exercises / drills.c
Job Requirements
- More than 6 years experience in Deck Operations as Deck Foreman or Deck Supervisor on an Offshore Platform
- Qualified Helicopter Landing Officer with at least 2 years HLO experience
- Marine Logistics or directly related services experience within the oil & gas industry, with some time at a supervisory level
- Fluent in English language both verbal and written
- Culturally aware with experience of working with multinational workforces
- Extensive knowledge of Mechanical Handling and Manual handing, Deck activities & Dangerous goods handling on an Offshore Oil & Gas Facility
- Extensive experience of lifting equipment and crane operations
- Ability to lead a team of Deck Crew and scaffolders both as a supervisor and in a technical advisory capacity
