Purpose: OSS Senior Engineer oversees the operational support systems (OSS) of a telecom network, ensuring seamless functionality. To ensure that these systems are designed, implemented, and maintained effectively to support the telecom infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• NMS/EMS for across all domains (Radio, Transmission, IP Transport, Core CS/PS) and OSS Tools housekeeping & routine maintenance tasks to ensure the health & availability of the NMS(s), EMS(s) and other OSS platforms, in accordance with vendor recommendations.
• Care support for complex cases (Emergency, Trouble Resolution and Technical Query) at OSS platforms.
• Coordinate with L3 support team for resolution of faults in timely manner.
• Responsible of server health performance and application functioning, security, backups, user administration & Daily health check for the systems.
• Administration of Northbound & Southbound interfaces PM, FM & CM.
• Reporting Suite & Report Builder (Defining New KPI, troubleshooting PM problems).
• Identifying problems with network & database and taking appropriate action.
• Nokia NetAct / ZTE (U31, UME) installation, commissioning, and upgrades (Responsible for end-to-end process).
• Integration of NMS/EMS with other third party OSS Tools (FM, PM, CM, TTS, VMAX, Groundhog etc..)
• Strong domain knowledge in OSS Platforms and Applications with hands-on experience in supporting and managing OSS Applications and Tools.
• Performance Management of Mobile 2G/3G/4G networks. Monthly/Weekly Network reporting.
• POC for all customer / vendor technical queries/issues for all Network Management Systems(s) and OSS Tools.
• Performed NOC-CORE related customizations with good knowledge of change management.
• Manage Critical Faults and Outages in the network to support services for quick resolution of all critical and major issues.
• Must have the experience in system commissioning and upgrades of various software releases.
• Well-versed in Unix, Linux, Windows platforms, and networking. Competent in Oracle SQL, Postgres SQL, Perl and Shell scripting and Virtualization. Assess and develop potential internal performance management tools with multivendor capabilities to increase workload efficiency.
• Work closely with cross-functional domain member (e.g, RAN, TX, Core, NOC) to identify issues, suggest improvement actions, follow-up and assurance of delivered results after action plan.
• Initiate the requirement on the automation of internal processes and reports, and network data analytics from DPI, OSS for efficient network performance.
• Managing the audit of network quality across all domains including parameter/feature tuning activities to ensure consistency and quality across the network.
• Surveillance in the quality control of the customer complaints management.
