Position Summary:

The Procurement Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services essential for the execution of construction projects. This includes ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of construction supplies while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project and company objectives.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs), tenders, and purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and contract compliance.
• Ensure materials and services are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to forecast material needs.
• Manage procurement documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Evaluate and mitigate procurement risks related to cost, timelines, and supply chain issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards.
• Develop cost-saving initiatives and maintain cost control throughout the procurement cycle.

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, PMP, CSCP) are an advantage.

  Experience:

• 5–10 years of experience in procurement within the construction industry.
• Age 35. Years over
• Proven track record in managing large-scale procurement for infrastructure, commercial, or residential projects.
• Experience with contract negotiation, tendering, and vendor management.

  Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of construction materials, logistics, and sourcing.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Procore, MS Project).
• Strong analytical and budgeting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
• Understanding of legal terms and contract management.
• Team player with leadership capabilities.
