Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with other members of the team.
Teach in a specialised classroom with a low student-to-teacher ratio.
Deliver small group lessons to students attending the TLC and Pathway for Progress curriculum in Secondary
Adapt learning materials to students’ needs to create engaging lessons.
Develop and deliver curriculum specifically designed for individual students keeping in line with the English National Curriculum.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic growth, independence, and self-advocacy.
Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods and interventions as needed to support their development.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, in compliance with school policies and regulations.
Support the integration of the students into mainstream classrooms wherever appropriate.
Support students with the development of their Independent Living Skills
To contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the school’s policies, practices and procedures, so as to support the school’s values, vision and mission
To make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
To work with others on curriculum and student development to secure co-ordinated outcomes.
To be involved in Whole school activities, ensuring the active participation of SEN students.
To provide cover, where another teacher is unable to teach

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in any subject
A recognised teaching certificate or diploma
Specific SEN training related to various disabilities, learning difficulties, or special education interventions, eg. autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, ADHD, etc.
Some teaching experience in the subjects being taught within the programme, including English language skills, mathematical concepts, and basic ICT competencies at the required levels.
Prior experience in teaching (2+ years), ideally in settings that include students with SEN.
Experience working with individuals with special educational needs, whether through teaching, support work, or other relevant roles
Proficiency in English, Mathematics, and ICT
Knowledge of the English National Curriculum
Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
A good understanding of how children learn
Ability to adapt teaching to meet students’ needs
Ability to build effective working relationships with students
Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
