Job Purpose:
Responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of utility systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service. The Utility Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing utility systems such as water, steam, compressed air, HVAC, electrical, and wastewater systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate and monitor utility equipment and systems.
· Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
· Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and identify root causes.
· Maintain boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, generators, and HVAC systems (as applicable).
· Monitor utility consumption and report abnormal conditions.
· Record maintenance activities and equipment performance in maintenance logs or CMMS.
· Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
· Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency situations.
· Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Coordinate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
