ROLE PURPOSE

The Data Analyst is a key member of Yoma Bank's Data Analytics team, responsible for delivering actionable insights through end-to-end analytical solution development. This includes requirement gathering, data sourcing and validation, modelling, dashboard creation, and insight presentation. The role emphasizes ensuring data quality and aligning analytical outputs with Yoma Bank's strategic goals through close collaboration with Data Engineering and Business teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Stakeholders Management - Proactively engage with business stakeholders to define clear analytical requirements, understand underlying business challenges, and translate these into robust requirement specifications and a clear plan for analytic solutions.
• Data Modelling - Conduct thorough data exploration and feasibility assessments, identifying appropriate data sources and proposing effective data models to address specific analytical questions and optimized the data models for efficiency.
• Data Cleaning & Preparation - Master data preparation activities, including sourcing, extracting, transforming, and cleaning diverse datasets using SQL, Python, and BI platform capabilities to ensure data is reliable and optimized for analysis for large amount of Data.
• Business Intelligence - Design, develop, and maintain intuitive, standardized dashboards and reports (e.g., using Power BI, Tableau), emphasizing clear data visualizations that effectively communicate key trends, performance metrics, and actionable insights.
• Advance Analytics - Perform deep-dive data analysis, employing statistical methods where appropriate, to uncover critical insights, identify patterns, and formulate data-driven recommendations to help solve the business challenges.
• Data Presentation - Effectively articulate complex analytical findings, insights, and recommendations to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders, through compelling data storytelling, presentations, and clear documentation.
• Data Validation - Be a defence layer of data integrity through regular and ad-hoc validation of data inputs and analytical outputs.
• Analytical Governance - Work with Data Engineering and Business teams, ensuring data quality inputs and the strategic alignment of analytical solutions with Yoma Bank's objectives and contributing to the adherence of data governance practices.

Education & Special Training

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.

Desirable

• Relevant certifications (BI tools, SQL, Python).

Experience

Essential

• 3+ years as a Data Analyst or BI Analyst with experience in the full dashboard development lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data cleaning/transformation.

Desirable

• Banking/financial services experience.

Knowledge & Skills

Essential

• Technical: Extended BI tool experiences (Power BI/Tableau), Advance Excel, Intermediate SQL, comfortable with Python (or willing to learn) for data tasks. Able to use Power Query and write DAX to an extent (Or alternatives in other BI platforms)
• Analytical: Ability to translate business needs into analytical solutions, assess data feasibility, model data, and solve data quality challenges.
• Collaboration: Proven ability to work with technical and business teams to ensure data quality and strategic alignment.
• Business Acumen: Sounds core business knowledge and be an agile learner to adapt with different domains and product areas.

Desirable

• Knowledge of Predictive Modeling, ML and Statistics.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Myanmar.
