Senior Site Engineer

Job Purpose

The Senior Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating construction activities on site to ensure that works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The role provides technical guidance to site engineers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors and supports the project management team in resolving construction issues.

Key Responsibilities

• • Supervise and monitor daily construction activities on site.
  • Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Review construction drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions.
  • Identify discrepancies and technical issues and coordinate appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure construction activities are completed according to the approved schedule.
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Coordinate with contractors regarding manpower, materials, equipment, and work schedules.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship and compliance with quality requirements.
  • Ensure that inspection and testing activities are properly coordinated and documented.
  • Monitor and follow up on non-conformance reports (NCRs), site observations, and corrective actions.
  • Review and respond to RFIs and technical queries related to construction works.
  • Coordinate site measurements and verify completed works for progress evaluation.
  • Monitor construction materials and ensure that only approved materials are used.
  • Coordinate with the Safety team to ensure that construction activities comply with project safety requirements.
  • Attend site coordination, progress, and technical meetings.
  • Follow up on meeting actions and ensure outstanding issues are resolved promptly.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Site Engineers and other site staff.
  • Assist the Project Manager/Construction Manager in planning and coordinating construction activities.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Support testing, commissioning, snagging, handover, and close-out activities.
  • Maintain proper records of site activities, inspections, drawings, reports, and technical correspondence.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional engineering registration or certification is preferred.
  • 8–12+ years of relevant construction/site experience, preferably on large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in site supervision and multidisciplinary construction coordination.
  • Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, quality control, and site management.
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
