ROLE PURPOSE
The Senior System Administrator ensures the organization’s server and infrastructure platforms are secure, reliable, resilient, and able to support business operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Server, OS, and infrastructure administration
- Administer Windows, Linux, virtualization, cloud, storage, and core infrastructure platforms.
Availability, performance, and capacity management
- Ensure infrastructure availability, reliability, performance, monitoring, and capacity planning.
Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
- Manage backup, restore, replication, DR testing, and RTO/RPO requirements.
Security, hardening, and compliance
- Implement patching, hardening, vulnerability remediation, access control, audit, and compliance requirements.
Incident, problem, and operational support
- Provide L2/L3 support, troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Automation, change, and configuration management
- Automate routine tasks, manage approved changes, maintain configuration records, and reduce manual effort.
Documentation, standards, and continuous improvement
- Maintain SOPs, runbooks, architecture documents, standards, and improvement plans.
Technical leadership and collaboration
- Guide junior engineers, lead technical initiatives, support deployments, and coordinate across teams and vendors.
