What we do

We have been providing effective insurance coverages to Myanmar people as AYA Myanmar Company Limited since January 2013 throughout our vast distribution network.
Through 2019 regulatory reform, the composite license of AYA Myanmar Insurance Company Limited has been split-up into two separate entities; as Life and General sides as per the directive of the Insurance Business Regulatory Board (IBRB). To provide the General Insurance coverage, our General entity has been merged with SOMPO Insurance Company, one of the Japanese Insurance Company; as AYA SOMPO General Insurance Co., Ltd. Then, it came into being as AYA Myanmar Life Assurance Co., Ltd. To provide effective insurance coverages to Myanmar people.

This proposition plays a leadership role, overseeing the entire underwriting process and ensuring the company takes on profitable risks. Main Responsibilities • Review and assess proposal based on company guidelines and risk factors • Analyze the proposal’s information, medical history to determine insurability and risk profile • Develop and implement underwriting strategies aligned with the company’s risk management and financial goals • Define clear underwriting guidelines and risk selection criteria • Analyze underwriting data and reports to identify risk trends, profitability metrics, and area for improvement • Make recommendations for product development or adjustments based on market demands and risk analysis • Oversee the efficiency of the underwriting process, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements for faster turnarounds times Other Responsibilities • Maintain accurate and complete underwriting records for all processed proposals • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to adapt underwriting strategies and policies • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to company rules and guidelines • Lead and supervise a team of underwriters, delegating tasks and monitoring performance • Facilitate required trainings as per Training and Development schedules • Other related tasks assigned by Management

Main Responsibilities Supervising and guiding the sales team as well as providing incentives to motivate staff to achieve sales targets. Monitoring the performance of the sales team. This proposition is responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of internal audit processes, procedures, and performing the operational audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and corporate standards. Main Responsibilities • Review and evaluate the organization’s governance, risk management, internal control system. • Review and evaluate the organization’s financial statement and transactions in accordance with the IAS/IFRS, regulatory requirements and related law and regulations. • Able to evaluate and identify the internal control weakness and significant risk exposures arising from organization’s operation. • Able to communicate with administrative report to Senior Management and functional report to Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (ARCC) about the significant audit finding. • Ensure internal audit policies and procedures are in in place in accordance with regulation and company's policy. • Ensure to adhere to code of conducts and reasonable level of competency by all internal auditors. • Develop risk-based internal audit plan (annually) including audit budget. • Review of follow-up audit findings by taking into consideration of management’s effective proactive corrective action and risk level. • Conduct performance appraisals on internal audit staff on the frequency stipulated by Human Resource Department. • Coordinate and cooperate with all divisions and department to ensure growth of the organization. • Other duty assigned by Senior Management and ARCC.
