Job Description

  • Accounting Operations and General Ledger Manage and supervise daily accounting operations to ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time.
  • Review and maintain the General Ledger, chart of accounts, journal entries, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and approved procedures.
  • Review the accuracy, completeness, coding, and approval of accounting transactions before posting.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, bank, fixed assets, and other accounting activities.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on unusual, aged, or unreconciled items.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting records and ensure they are properly organized and accessible. Financial Reporting and Management Information Prepare or review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure reports are accurate, complete, consistent, and submitted within established deadlines.
  • Analyze financial results, budget variances, trends, and significant movements in account balances.
  • Provide clear explanations of material variances and financial issues to management.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and other financial analysis when required.
  • Recommend improvements to reporting processes, controls, and financial information systems. Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End Closing Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Prepare and maintain a closing calendar, communicate deadlines, and monitor completion of assigned tasks.
  • Review accruals, prepayments, provisions, depreciation, foreign currency adjustments, and other closing entries.
  • Ensure all relevant transactions are recorded in the correct accounting period.
  • Review account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies before financial reports are finalized.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to collect required information and supporting documents. Reconciliations and Balance Sheet Control Review bank, cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany, fixed asset, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure reconciliations are completed regularly, supported by appropriate evidence, and reviewed by authorized personnel.
  • Investigate and resolve unreconciled differences, long-outstanding items, and unusual balances.
  • Maintain a clear record of reconciliation status, outstanding actions, and responsible personnel.
  • Escalate significant or overdue reconciliation issues to management. FRD Reporting and Regulatory Support Prepare, review, and submit required FRD reports and financial information within prescribed deadlines.
  • Reconcile figures reported to the FRD with the General Ledger, accounting system, and relevant supporting schedules.
  • Investigate and resolve differences between regulatory reports and internal financial records.
  • Maintain an orderly record of submitted FRD reports, submission confirmations, working papers, and supporting documents.
  • Monitor changes to reporting requirements and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to support compliance.
  • Respond to queries relating to submitted reports and provide supporting information for review or audit. Expense Monitoring and Financial Controls Monitor company expenses and review transactions for proper authorization, classification, and documentation.
  • Ensure expenses are recorded accurately and in accordance with approved budgets and company policies.
  • Identify unusual spending, policy exceptions, or potential control weaknesses and escalate them appropriately.
  • Support the development and implementation of effective accounting controls and procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and approval controls are maintained within the accounting process.
  • Protect the integrity and confidentiality of financial information and accounting records. Audit and Compliance Coordinate with internal and external auditors on financial reporting, accounting records, and audit requests.
  • Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, supporting documents, and other requested information.
  • Follow up on audit findings and agreed corrective actions until resolved.
  • Ensure financial records are retained in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
  • Promote compliance with company financial policies, accounting procedures, and applicable reporting obligations.
  • Recommend updates to policies and procedures when processes or requirements change. Team Supervision and Development Supervise, guide, and support accounting staff in their day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Allocate work, set priorities, monitor performance, and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Review the team’s work and provide constructive feedback and technical guidance.
  • Identify training and development needs and support staff capability-building.
  • Encourage accountability, collaboration, confidentiality, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Support succession planning and cross-training for key accounting tasks where appropriate. Process Improvement and Systems Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting timelines, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Support the effective use of accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Help maintain accurate master data, user controls, and accounting system records.
  • Participate in system enhancements, process changes, and implementation projects as required.

Job Requirements

  • At least 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in month-end closing, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and audit coordination.
  • Experience preparing or supporting regulatory or FRD reporting is an advantage.
  • Supervisory or team-management experience is preferred.
  • Experience using accounting software or an ERP system is required.
