PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Category Buyer – Business Services is responsible for managing the sourcing and procurement of indirect goods and services that support brewery operations. This includes categories such as utilities, logistics, facilities management, maintenance services, fleet, IT and professional services. The role ensures cost efficiency, service reliability, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements within a brewery environment. 

RESPONSIBILITY

Sourcing and Supplier Management  

• Develop and execute procurement strategies  

• Identify reliable, cost-effective suppliers (including MNCs) via market research  

• Optimize supplier network and total cost of ownership

• Maintain vendor database, conduct due diligence, and track supplier performance using KPIs/SLAs  

• Ensure business continuity through risk mitigation

Tender & Contract Management

• Lead bidding processes (E-Tender, RFQ, RFP) and comparative analyses

• Negotiate contracts with legal and stakeholders

• Track contracts, expiry, renewals, and new tenders systematically

PR/PO Management & Payment Processing

• Manage purchase requisitions and orders from initiation to closure

• Ensure timely payments, resolve discrepancies, and monitor budgets with HODs

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

• Maintain strong internal relationships and align procurement strategies with business needs

• Prepare reports, dashboards, KPIs, and cost analysis for management  

• Act as a trusted business partner and advisor

Audit & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and legal requirements

• Manage audits, provide documentation, address findings, and drive process improvements

Additional Responsibilities (Heineken-Specific) 

• Promote sustainable sourcing and supplier diversity initiatives

• Support digital procurement systems adoption

• Contribute to cross-functional projects impacting business operations

Savings & Cost Optimization 

• Perform spend analysis and lead cost-saving initiatives

• Identify cost leakage and drive cross-functional workshops for savings 

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field 

• Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in FMCG, beverage, or manufacturing industries 

• Experience in indirect procurement, especially business services and IT

• Strong negotiation and contract management experience 

• Understanding of local regulatory environment and supplier landscape

• Fluency in Myanmar is a must 

• Experience in brewery or beverage manufacturing operations

• Knowledge of utilities procurement (electricity, fuel, water) and logistics contracts  Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and procurement tools

• Exposure to global procurement frameworks and policies
