Database Administrator (Technology, Data & Information Department)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances
• Create Users and assign permissions based on the level of database access the user would need
• Design database backup and restore strategy
• Setup High-Availability as part of Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases
• Troubleshoot various problems that arise in the day-to-day operations and fix the issues
• Monitoring and Performance Tuning; Physical Server Level, Database level (Database settings and options) and query tuning to include index optimizations
• Need to manage Failover clustering, Mirroring, DB replication, SAN replication, and other High-Availability technologies
• Database growth vs disk space available, audits, resource monitoring
• Need to preform proactive maintenance and regular maintenance activities
• Monitor, backups to ensure they are being performed regularly
• From time to time recover the databases to a specific point of time, as per the requests
• Responsibility on Database Performance, Uptime and BCP

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Technology, Information Technology or other relevant academic backgrounds (Certificate in SQL, DBA is preferable!)
• Have at least 5~8 years of working experience in related field (Familiar with both Hardware and Software is preferable!)
• Have experience in monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving the critical, medium & major production issues and Data Warehousing (Experience in Microsoft SQL Server DBA at IT industry and Enterprise IT Infrastructure is preferable!)
• A team player with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Able to work well under pressure and travel as necessary
• Good interpersonal skills, communication skills, problem solving skills and negotiation skills
• Good command in English & Computer literate
