Job Description

Job Summary: The Front Office Engineer - Transmission will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and resolving issues related to the transmission network. They will also be responsible for ensuring the timely communication of incidents to stakeholders and other teams. Additionally, the engineer will prepare and send reports to the operation and reporting teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor transmission network alarms and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Filter redundant alarms to ensure that only relevant alarms are escalated.
  • Correlate alarms and determine the impacted resources and services.
  • Communicate with stakeholders via email to provide updates on incidents.
  • Escalate major and critical issues to the FO Manager, BO Team, and Management Team.
  • Follow up with stakeholders, FM Team, and BO Team until the issue is resolved.
  • Send restoration mail back to stakeholders and request detailed reasons for outages and the action taken for restoration.
  • Prepare and send hourly fiber down, main failure, NE utilization, ISP utilization value, and MW KPI reports to the operation and reporting teams.
  •  Prepare and send physical port down and device powered off to the reporting team

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, computer science, or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in NOC field.
  • Knowledge of transmission network protocols and equipment.
  • Experience with alarm monitoring and incident management.
  • Strong communication skills to communicate with stakeholders and other teams.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all incidents and reports are accurately documented.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
