Management responsibilities

• To manage and develop efficient systems and procedures within the Business Office in order to effectively meet the needs of the school 

• To lead and manage personnel within the Business Office

• To support the professional development of  personnel within the Business Office

• To advise and assist the Senior Leadership Team and BoD in the compilation and control of the school budget.

Business and Finance duties

• To provide on-going budgetary information to relevant people as necessary

• To monitor income and expenditure in relation to the school’s budget and produce monthly reports

• To ensure that accurate  and  up  to  date  records  of  all  financial  transactions  are maintained

• To keep all school accounts and to assist in the preparation for the annual audit, liaising with all parties involved

• To manage and oversee MISCA money, bank transfers, purchasing and staff loans 

• To maintain and oversee all bank accounts

• To be responsible for the completion of the school’s payroll and overtime in coordinating with the HR Department

• To ensure that payslips for all staff are generated and distributed

• To coordinate and maintain a list of approved contractors and suppliers to ensure best value.

• To ensure that all financial administrative duties, checks, documentation, reports and returns (internal and external) are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.

Other duties

• To communicate with  MISY staff as necessary regarding procedures  for payment of housing, visas, transportation and the school’s internal finance procedures

• To support all co-workers for the purpose of ensuring the efficient operation of the site. 

• To commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. 

• To support the  Mission and  Vision of  MISY

• To be  actively involved  in all school functions/programmes, which may require additional  duties

Qualifications and Experience

• A recognized Finance qualification

• Experience financial management

• Experience of working with databases and other IT software related to finance and business

• Evidence of ongoing professional development

• Experience of working in an educational  setting

• Experience of setting up finance systems and procedures

• Excellent interpersonal skills, confident individual who can communicate in a professional manner

• Good management skills

• Excellent, administrative, IT skills, Word and Excel or equivalent systems

• Excellent telephone manner

• Strong numerical skills

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability to review, develop and implement Finance systems

• Ability to lead on Finance projects and initiatives
