Job Title: Primary Teacher Librarian

Salary: Competitive salary offered based on skills and experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding teacher librarian to join our supportive and innovative international school.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Manage the daily operation of a busy primary school library including: 

  • filing and shelving

  • book repairs and labelling

  • maintain the school catalogue including borrowing and returning resources 

• Promote the library space across primary, making it a positive and welcoming space for learning

• Set up reading displays and competitions to raise the profile of reading

• Promote a culture of reading for pleasure, engaging students in new and unique ways.

• Work with teachers to embed the library and its resources into student’s lessons.

• Support  reading sessions with small groups of students. 

• Maintain and manage the library as a tidy, accessible and vibrant resource centre which reflects the ethos of the school. 

• Supervise and manage student behaviour during their time in the library. This will usually be in collaboration with a teacher.

• Organise and run library clubs and activities for children.

• With advice from the line manager, produce and keep up to date the library development plan as part of the School Improvement Plan.
