Job Description

A Good Opportunity for ..

  • Negotiating & purchasing of the goods for both local and international suppliers in close co-ordination with the Chief of Supply Chain Officer
  • Ensure all contracts are put to tender and are evaluated by the Purchasing Committee
  • Ensure contracts are in place for all suppliers of all goods inclusive of terms and condition, payment terms and delivery schedules in accordance with the requirements
  • Development of new suppliers to ensure there are at least 2 alternate sources of supply for each item
  • Source materials to reduce the cost without affecting the quality
  • Monthly monitoring of costs to ensure they are controlled and within budget
  • Produce and maintain a supplier price history database to capture and assess the supplier’s service, quality and price performance
  • Negotiate and reduce freight costs of goods to maximize realization
  • Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritizing and handling multiple tasks, whilst maintaining attention to detail Identifies and researches potential new suppliers
  • Researches new products and services to meet company's goals
  • Assesses total costs of company purchases
  • Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels
  • Responsible for arranging timely payments to vendors.
  • Manage and develop the purchasing function for the company.
  • Develop and update purchasing policy and planning.
  • Manage and purchasing information and systems and review commodity strategy with the management team
  • Manage and develop existing and potential supplier pool and update the approval vendor list.
  • Search for new potential suppliers, develop and set up a supplier database.
  • Negotiate and set up contracts for the facility.
  • Effective & proactive with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan to meet purchase deadlines, to bundling of demands for necessary activities of facility.
  • Make or buy analysis of production and decision making in cooperation with management.
  • Administration and reporting of purchase processes as necessary.
  • Liasioning with Plant for the Production Plan / Monthly/Quarterly Indents.
  • Getting quotations, making comparisons and processing orders based on the approvals.
  • Follow up with the supplier/transporter for the deliveries.
  • Coordinate with the respective departments like Plant/Stores/Finance for smooth transactions.
  • Maintain monthly/quarterly JDE-data for the Ordering status.
  • Prepare various reports in Excel/PPT for better presentation of the data to Management expectations & prepares a variety of reports.
  • Assist in annual budgeting and preparation of prices, cash flow, supplier contracts, reduction of demurrage, working capital and potential write offs
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
