To be responsible for the confidential counselling services to students and families as needed.
To be responsible for providing counselling and support for groups of students as needed.
To be responsible for maintaining appropriate and confidential records.
To provide regular information such as numbers, age range and types of problems and progress to the senior leadership teams and the Board of Directors on request.
To continually review and evaluate the counselling service provision.
To be responsible for referring students to other support services and mental health professionals as needed.
To coordinate with the heads of pastoral care for primary and secondary for referrals to the counselling service.
To liaise with the Designated Safeguarding Lead on a regular basis.
To liaise with teachers regarding individual students who have been referred for counselling as necessary.
To coordinate with all members of the student services teams at regular meetings where students of concern are discussed and actions decided.
To arrange and deliver relevant training for staff as and when needs are identified.
To help plan and run wellbeing workshops for parents, teachers and students.
To support the pastoral team with assemblies and lessons as part of the wellbeing provision
To have a thorough knowledge of the mental health provision locally, nationally and internationally
Take responsibility for personal professional development, keeping up-to-date with research
and developments which may lead to improvements in the counselling service provided

Job Requirements
Therapeutic training or qualification in working with children and young people.
Minimum of 500 hours of clinical counselling experience including working with families, children and young people.
Experience of teaching or counselling at a private or an international school in Myanmar (desired)
Bachelor's Degree in a related field for example psychology, nursing, teaching, social sciences. Medicine. Anthropology etc.
Diploma or master’s level in Counselling or Psychotherapy (desired)
Knowledge and understanding of the developmental, emotional, social and educational issues of children and young people
An awareness of range of needs of people from diverse ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds
Knowledge of local, national and international mental health provision
Good written and verbal communication skills in Myanmar and English language
Ability to work independently
Positive communication and listening skills
Patience, tolerance and sensitivity
A mature and non-judgemental outlook
