ROLE PURPOSE 

The SME Operations Associate plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of SME loan renewals and disbursements. This includes reviewing and verifying loan documentation, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Bank's Credit Policy. 

A core responsibility of this role is conducting thorough credit assessments for loan renewals. This involves evaluating the borrower’s financial health, repayment history, and overall creditworthiness to determine if they are eligible for renewal under favorable terms. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Credit Assessment for Renewal Files 

• Verifying loan renewal requests for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. 
• Conducting credit assessments by reviewing financial documents, analyzing repayment histories, and evaluating risk factors to make informed decisions on loan renewals. 
• Updating and maintaining loan renewal records in the core banking system to ensure accurate data and compliance. 
• Coordinating with branches and customers to facilitate timely loan renewals, ensuring the necessary documentation and information are collected. 

Documentation Before Loan Disbursement: 

• Carefully review loan applications and supporting documents to ensure compliance with bank policies and requirements.  
• Input loan details into the bank’s core banking system (FBE).  
• Ensure necessary deductions, including insurance premiums, are processed.  
• Draft and prepare loan contracts based on the approved loan product and authority guidelines. 
• Monitor post-loan disbursement conditions and escalate any overdue issues.  
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Branches, Legal Team, Business Team) to ensure a smooth and efficient loan processing workflow. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED  

Knowledge & Skills     

• Must be an effective team player who can communicate and collaborate efficiently with team members.  
• Ability to work within a team environment, interact with peers and management within the bank as well as with the other departments. 
• Should maintain good relationships with all stakeholders.  
• Should ensure all tasks are completed within specified timeframes.  
• Must take responsibility for completing work efficiently and effectively within the given period.  
• Must understand the importance and value of each task.  
• Should have strong problem-solving and negotiation skills. 

Education & Special Training     

• University degree in any field. 
• Comprehensive understanding of banking lending processes. 
•  Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, and email communication.  
•  Strong written communication skills in both English and Burmese. 

Experience 

• Minimum 2 years of knowledge in related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of knowledge in operating of SME business loans.

Languages 

• Fluent in English speaking skills
