Supporting Teaching and Learning
● Support children individually in small groups and through play-based learning experiences in line with the EYFS curriculum.
● Assistin the teacher in planning and delivering, engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.
● Encourage children's independence, confidence, curiosity and communication skills.
● Support children with additional needs, including SEND, EAL, or those requiring targeted academic or pastoral support.
● Promote language development through high-quality interactions, storytelling, singing and conversations.
● Foaster positive learning behaviours and model appropriate social interactions.
Classroom and Environment Support
● Prepare, organise, and maintain learning resources and classroom areas.
● Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive indoor and outdoor learning environment.
● Support the organisation of continuous provision and play-based activities.
● Supervise children during lessons, transitions, playtimes, mealtimes and toileting routines where appropriate.
● Ensure the classroom environment reflects and celebrates children's learning.
Assessment and Observation
● Observe children's learning and development and share observations with the class teacher.
● Contribute to assessment records, learning journeys, and documentation of children's progress .
● Supportthe implementation of individual learning or support plans.
● Recognise and respond to children's develpmental and emotional needs.
Pastoral Care and Wellbeing
● Support children's social, emotional, and personal development.
● Help children to develop positive relationships, self-regulation and independence skills.
● Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
● Build positive relationships with children, parents and staff.
● Support children's wellbeing and provide reassurance and care when needed.
Professional Responsibilities
● Work collaboratively as part of the Early Years team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
● Attend relevant training, meetings, and professional development activities.
● Uphold the school’s ethos, values, and policies, including safeguarding, and confidentiality.
● Act as a positive role model and maintain professionalism at all times.
