Jobs in logistics and and transport in Myanmar are all related to the organisation and execution of the transport of goods from one location to another, whether it be on a national or international basis. What sort of jobs are in logistics and transport in Myanmar? There are jobs in logistics which involve administration and organisation as well as jobs in which involve the physical transportation of the goods. Examples of jobs in transport include the physical work of loading and and unloading the goods as well as drivers who make the delivery. Logistics and transport jobs all involve ensuring that the goods reach their destination in the time agreed upon as well as in perfect condition. Warehouse jobs in logistics and transport are the most likely found in industrial areas and areas around ports. There are many different tasks involved in the transport of goods. It may start with the logistics manager who will negotiate the contract regarding the transportation of goods, and when all conditions are agreed upon then the goods will be loaded. These goods may be large or small: anything from clothes to cars and so forth. The goods will then be loaded onto a truck, ship or another form of transport either physically or using machinery, and will then be taken to their destination, and unloaded. There may be more than one leg of the journey. At all times the goods must be accounted for and the receiver informed of the progress. When the goods reach their destination, the inventory and condition must be checked. In some cases this will be the end of the process, but in other circumstances it will continue, and there will be multiple forms of transport used as well as many people involved.
Already there are many jobs available in logistics and transport in Myanmar, and this is only going to increase as there have been economic reforms which have encouraged foreign investment. Adding to that there are many proposed infrastructure projects which will see transport efficiency and viability increase To obtain a job in logistics and transport depends on what you are seeking. For a driver job, a clean drivers license is expected: the hours can be long and lonely. There are also jobs which involve the physical labour meaning that all that is required is a certain level of fitness and and ability to work in extreme conditions. Often the ability to operate lifting machinery is a plus, but this can often be taught on the job. Other area that do not necessarily require a college education include administrative duties: and logistics and transport requires a lot of administration! To acquire these jobs one needs to have computer skills. From there it is possible under circumstances to move into other departments such as human resources or marketing within the logistics sector in Myanmar. For managerial position, not only does one require experience, acute organisation skills and communication skills but business qualifications are always an advantage, as well as English skills, especially when the logistics and transport role is on an international landscape.
