To manage and optimize the company’s transportation fleet, ensuring efficient route planning, driver performance, vehicle maintenance, GPS tracking, cost control, and overall fleet profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fleet & Transport Operations

• Manage day-to-day operations of all company trucks and transportation activities.
• Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize vehicle utilization and profitability.
• Monitor vehicle schedules, trip assignments, loading/unloading, and delivery performance.
• Ensure trucks are properly utilized and minimize empty trips and unnecessary mileage.

2. Driver Management

• Manage and monitor truck drivers and ensure compliance with company policies and transport procedures.
• Assign drivers and vehicles based on operational requirements.
• Monitor driver attendance, driving performance, safety, and discipline.
• Conduct regular driver performance reviews and provide coaching where necessary.

3. GPS & Fleet Tracking

• Monitor all vehicles through the GPS tracking system.
• Track vehicle locations, routes, speed, stoppages, and unauthorized movements.
• Identify route deviations, excessive idle time, and inefficient driving patterns.
• Prepare regular GPS and fleet utilization reports.

4. Vehicle Maintenance

• Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance for all trucks.
• Establish and maintain regular maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with workshops and service providers for vehicle repairs.
• Monitor vehicle condition and minimize breakdowns and downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repair history.

5. Cost Control

• Monitor fuel consumption, repair costs, spare parts, and other transportation expenses.
• Identify opportunities to reduce fuel consumption and unnecessary repair costs.
• Control maintenance and operating expenses within the approved budget.
• Analyze cost per trip / kilometer and recommend cost-saving initiatives.

6. Route & Profitability Optimization

• Analyze transportation costs, trip volume, and route profitability.
• Develop efficient routes to reduce travel time, fuel consumption, and operating costs.
• Recommend the most profitable transportation routes and trip schedules.
• Improve fleet productivity and maximize revenue/profit per vehicle.

7. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fleet operation reports.
• Monitor KPIs, including
• Fleet utilization
• On-time delivery
• Fuel consumption
• Maintenance cost
• Cost per kilometer
• Vehicle downtime
• Driver performance
• Trip profitability
• Provide recommendations to management based on operational data.

8. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all vehicles and drivers comply with company safety standards and applicable transportation regulations.
• Conduct regular vehicle safety checks.
• Ensure proper documentation such as licenses, registration, insurance, and maintenance records.
• Investigate accidents, vehicle damage, and major operational incidents.

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in fleet, transportation, logistics, or truck operations.
• At least 2–3 years in a supervisory/management position.
• Strong experience in managing truck drivers and transportation operations.
• Experience using GPS/Fleet Tracking Systems.
• Good knowledge of truck maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of route planning and transportation cost management.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and fleet reporting systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and team management skills
