Job Purpose
The Academic Coordinator is responsible for supporting, monitoring, and enhancing the academic quality and teaching practices within the school. This role ensures the smooth delivery of curriculum, supports teachers in instructional practices, and contributes to maintaining high academic standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Management & Curriculum Support
Assist in planning, implementing, and reviewing curriculum across grade levels.
Ensure curriculum coverage aligns with the school’s academic standards and policies.
Coordinate academic schedules, timetables, and assessments.
Ensure lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching materials meet requirements.
2. Teacher Support & Supervision
Support teachers with instructional strategies, classroom management, and teaching resources.
Monitor teacher performance through class observations and constructive feedback.
Organize professional development workshops and training sessions.
Provide academic guidance and mentorship to new teachers.
3. Student Learning & Achievement
Monitor student progress, assessment outcomes, and academic performance trends.
Support interventions for struggling learners in collaboration with teachers.
Coordinate exams, assessments, and reporting processes.
4. Communication & Coordination
Act as a communication bridge between teachers, parents, and school leadership.
Attend academic meetings and prepare reports when needed.
Assist with academic events such as exhibitions, parent–teacher conferences, and school activities.
5. Administrative Responsibilities
Maintain academic documentation, teacher records, and curriculum files.
Support scheduling, substitution planning, and staff coordination.
Help ensure compliance with school policies and academic regulations.

Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in an international school setting.
Prior experience in a leadership or coordinator role is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of curriculum planning and assessment strategies.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide teachers.
Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school leaders.
Good proficiency in English (spoken and written).
